Kansas Energy Council Issues "2007 Draft Policy Recommendations"; Seeks Public Comment

The Kansas Energy Council, a statewide energy policy group charged with the development of a comprehensive state energy plan, has issued its "2007 Draft Policy Recommendations" and is accepting public comments on the recommendations.
The "2007 Draft Policy Recommendations" cover the following areas:
- Statewide Energy Conservation Programs
- Wind Energy Development
- Development of Clean (non-airborne emitting) Electrical Energy Generation

Public comments will be accepted through October 31, 2006. There will be a public hearing in Topeka on Friday, October 13, 2006, in the old Kansas Supreme Court Hearing Room, Room 313-S, of the Kansas Statehouse.
The Consumer Council for CURB represents residential and small commercial utility consumers on the Kansas Energy Council. The Council will meet again on November 15, 2006, to discuss and either approve or disapprove final drafts for inclusion in the 2007 Kansas Energy Plan.
