Stephanie  Kelton

Stephanie Kelton was appointed to the Citizens' Utility Ratepayer Board by Governor Mark Parkinson in August 2009. Ms. Kelton currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Center for Neighborhood Research and Investment. She has served on numerous professional and charitable boards and councils.

Ms. Kelton earned Bachelor's degrees (BA/BS) in Economics and Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento, a Master's Degree (M.Phil) in Economics from Cambridge University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from The New School for Social Research. She is employed as an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and she is a Research Scholar at the Levy Economics Institute in New York. She has published dozens of professional articles and is considered an expert in the areas of public finance, financial accounting and international finance. She is listed in Who's Who in the World and was the recipient of a Rotary International Scholarship to study in Cambridge, England.

Ms. Kelton's husband, Paul, is a professor of history at the University of Kansas. They have two daughters (Katherine and Caroline) and one son (Bradley).

Ms. Kelton is serving a four-year term, which expires June 30, 2013.
