Joseph R. Astrab, Consumer Counsel

Joseph R. Astrab has been engaged in the practice of law since 2014. Joseph graduated from Washburn University in Topeka Kansas in 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2011. Continuing his education at Washburn University School of Law, Mr. Astrab earned his Juris Doctor in 2014, with an emphasis in Business and Transactional Law.

Mr. Astrab began his practice as a criminal defense attorney with the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender Office in Olathe, Kansas accepting court-appointed cases and representing clients in front of judges and juries in 2014 before joining CURB in 2019. Joseph has represented CURB and ratepayer interests before the Kansas Corporation Commission in high-profile rate cases and other dockets. He provides zealous advocacy, experience, and professionalism with regulators, utilities, and advocacy groups while advancing residential and small commercial ratepayer interests.
